Design and location scouting has begun

According to a post on TF movie producer Don Murphy's forum, design and location scouting has begun. What does this mean to mean and you? Nada. Yeah Paramount just absorbed Dreamworks but that usually doesn't effect on going projects...yet. Basically this is a good sign that a script is almost done and the movie is still go.

Some Non-News

Apparently the Transformers Movie producer Don Murphy provided a little mini update over on his board about the progress of the movie. Basically its comes down to the script and budget is still being worked out. Michael Bay is still on as director and for now the 7/4/07 release is good. Thanks to xaxis over at tfw2005 for bringing this to people's attention.

Writers asks for Decepticon Top 10

"I can tell you this, it ended up being more than we originally thought or have stated publicly. You can just about double the list we gave out in previous interviews. So maybe a top ten list would be appreciated in the final hours. "
- Roberto Orci, writer on TF Movie

Apparently the script is nearly complete. Now why ask for a top 10 after the script is nearly done? Beats me unless they have spots for generic appearances. Either way you can pipe in with your top 10. Just be aware asking for a list and using a list are worlds apart.

"News" from the writers

Roberto Orci and Alex Hurtzman has a brief interview with iesb.net about their latest writing assignment, Transformers The Move. The site has a transcript and video of this interview. The two writers most recently cobbled together the script for the latest Zorro sequal and Mission Impossible 3 so that will help determine what level of skill the franchise has been handed over to. The interview has "news" only in the sense that new characters are being introduced but whether those are human or Transformer kind was not clear. Other then that the writers claim to be fans of the franchise and no final decisions have been made on anything from who is in it, to casting, to what shows up or doesn't show up. In other words, everything is still up in the air.

Botcon '05: Transformers release date moved

Botcon 2005 also release some new information in regards to the live action movie and some old in regards to cuts made to the animated movie way back when. In current movie news, sadly we have to wait our live action fix as the release date has been moved from July 4th 2006 to Thanksgiving 2006 and now they have staked out July 4th 2007. Yet, thats a 7. So just a touch under two years assuming they get a script anytime soon that they like. This also would make current casting choices difficult as a star maybe A list now but this time next year could be on the C list. On top of that, it wouldn't suprise me if this effects Michael Bay as director.

Also revealed was some cuts made to the initial script including how the Devastator was defeated in the Battle for Autobot City (where Optimus died) and that Galvatron played a part in Ultra Magnus's "death".

Botcon '05: Star Wars Transformers

Botcon 2005 is this weekend and pictures and news updates are filtering to many of the Transformer sites. Most of the news is toys related including this great picture of a Darth Vader transformer coming out at the end of the year as part of the Transformers Star Wars line. More pictures here.

There are also more pictures of Cybertron, Universe, and Alternator toys.

George Clooney as Optimus?!?

Apparently a month or there was a rumor that George Clooney would be the voice of Optimus Prime for the TF movie. Well as is the case with many rumors, it was false. Lets all breathe a sigh of relief.

Ug, its quiet

All is quiet on the movies news front. Its pretty annoying really.
In toy news, Re-issue of Galvatron has been announced and coming out in December.
In comics news, Transformers #0 is coming out in October from IDW. Issue 0 is only a $1 which for today's comics is cheap.

No News on the TF movie front

So far heard nada on the TF movie front. Scripts are stilling being written, nothing is finalized. After the horrible performance of The Island I am sure all are having concerns about Michael Bay as director. Then of course comes the news, can't remember where, that chances are that beloved voices of the past will not be used. Which financially makes sense. If spending $100 million on a movie you want as many names as possible doing the voices, not a bunch of unknowns to the public.
Anycase, its all rumors, nothing is nailed down.

If have news, information, rumors, whatever, send em to me at canowupass at yahoo.

Under New Management

New owner of Transformers Live. The previous incarnation was apparently a temporary setup to show off Transformers the Movie information till the main site was setup. Feel free to visit my main blog/rant/whatever site at http://erasend.blogspot.com

Any case the movie is coming out 7/4/07. Pretty much the entire team behind the Island is involved so that movie is probably a solid indication of the future.

Cybertron toys are now hitting shelves nationwide. Go out, buy, spead the joy of TFs to others.

Cybertron cartoon is on Cartoon Network saturdays at 7:00pm. If liked Energon this one will go nicely for you.

More Binaltech toys are coming so more car transforming fun to come.

If you have news, info, whatever about Transformers to post, send it to me at canowupass at yahoo.com or leave it in comments. Also willing the change the look of the site to be more TFish for you blogger gurus out there so send that info also. Be sure to indicate what credit you like to give and receive and contact info want listed if any. Basically the Ain't It Cool website model.
