Dane Cook in Transformers?

DaneCook.com News section has a bit where Dane has "a cameo in TRANSFORMERS to be shot in August." Not a clue who this guy is. Some how I am out of the loop on this guy cause his name seems to be popping up everywhere for reasons I don't understand. Whatever, sure this is good news to someone.

San Diego Comicon 2006

The San Diego Comicon 2006 begins Thursday, ending Sunday, with a preview tonight. Now this sounds like a comic book convention, and it sorta is, but its become a big multimedia coming out party for not just comics, but Hollywood, toys, video games and others. Think of it as Cannes, comics, CES, Toyfair and bunch of others shows all crammed together for the weekend of panels, reveals and discussions. I wish I was there.

For those lucky enough to go, here is the schedule of Transformers related panels:

July 20th
3-4pm IDW Publishing
Reveals the next years worth of comic plans with several TF comics artists, writers and editors.

4-5pm Hasbro and Sony
The TF design and marketing teams show upcoming plans for Transformers Cybertron and Transformers Classics line (sweet!). Also sony will be discussing the 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD of Transformers: The Movie.

July 21st
1:30-2:30pm IDW Publishing
Another panel with IDW, more of a tour of all of the IDW is making in the coming year beyond just Transformers.

2:30-3:30 Paramount Pictures
Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonabentura will be hand along with other Paramount folks to discuss their upcoming picture slate...including Transformers. Hopefully news will come from this and other reveals.

Finally Friday, G4 TV is promising a "Transformers Exclusive" during their live coverage of Comicon that is beginning at 8:00pm EST, 5:00PST. No clue what that means, but knowing that station I am not expecting much. Might be worth tuning in anyway.

Any case, that means this weekend losts of news will becoming out on the next years projects for video games, comics, TV and movies. That means Transformers! That means tidbits and reveals, that means information to share and information to send me for those lucky enough to go.

Michael Duncan Clarke No Go for Transformers

Michael Duncan Clarke has made it official. He will not be in the Transformers movie. In an interview with blackfilm.com, "You know what and I hate to tell you this, but I am not in "Transformers". I am so mad that I have to tell you that, but something happened and we didn't get the deal done and I was really hurt about that, because my friend Michael Bay is directing and he's like to me, one of the top action directors ever. I love working on his movies."

Thanks for the headups Pretzel.

Bumblebee Pic Removed

Finally got around to checking my email today and looks like Paramount/Dreamworks got around to little old me and kindly asked I removed the Bumbleebee pic I had posted before.

I was tempted to ignore the request as the source of the email didn't come from paramount or dreamworks as one might expect:

From: "---" <---@Newmediastrategies.net>
To: canowupass@yahoo.com
CC: "---" <---@Newmediastrategies.net>

To [me]:

I work with Paramount Pictures and am contacting you to respectfully request that you remove the link to the Bumblebee Image that you have posted in your blog - http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/

The image is not authorized for release and we are currently reaching out to sites/blogs with the same request. Please let me know when this has been removed. Thank you in advance for your assistance – it is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

I purposely removed the personal information on who sent me the email since they are only doing their job and don't want to risk them getting harassed. Oddly the person CC'ed themselves the email, even though it should be in their "Sent Items" folder which is pretty much standard with any mail client currently used. Anyway, News Media Strategies does seem like a legit site so once again decided to err on the side of caution.

As a result, I have removed the pic even though really don't want to as have enjoyed the little spike of people it has brought to my humble site. Basically, I am not financially solvent enough to risk the hammer of the legal gods and, here we are. Feel free to express why you think its a bad idea for Paramount/Dreamworks to keep a lid on this information as I think they should be glad that info like this gets leaked. Any press is good press, and the more curious people get, the more money they are likely to make.

Optimus Prime CGI Test Video

Don't know if its real test footage from ILM or not, but regardless it is sweet. Its classic Optimus Prime transforming from truck to robot in the middle of the street. Because of the white, it could be argued its Ultra Magnus, but its test footage so who cares.

Click here for the video (in Quicktime) from blackfilm.com.
Click here for some wallpaper type pics.

TF Video Fake

"Straight from the man himself, it's bullshit. The tests that they are doing right now are far more complicated and detailed... it isn't about the transformations so much as it is about getting the Transformers to act and to emote, cuz that'll be the deciding factor on whether or not this movie gets made."
source: Ain't It Cool News

Well in the not so shocking news, my video post below is apparently fake. This comes apparently straight from the horses mouth, Michael Bay. Oops. On the plus side though, that little video was probably created at someone's home or whatever as is pretty damn good. This means whatever ILM pops out will knock our socks off. Any doubt that a life action TF would work or not is pretty much gone as far as I am concerned (course King King did that to).

More info at the link above but basically they are still hammering out the script and storyboards. Nothing final has been determined. In fact the film apparently isn't even greenlit, just in the might do it stages.

Katrina Posts

Well enough with the Katrina coverage on this blog. Go see my other blog for that. Its called TransformersLive so should try to be about Transformers. Right now, especially in light of Katrina, there is no news to break out. Nothing much on the toy front either except Cybertron Wave One are in most stores.

So for further Katrina coverage and other things go to http://erasend.blogspot.com

No News on the TF movie front

So far heard nada on the TF movie front. Scripts are stilling being written, nothing is finalized. After the horrible performance of The Island I am sure all are having concerns about Michael Bay as director. Then of course comes the news, can't remember where, that chances are that beloved voices of the past will not be used. Which financially makes sense. If spending $100 million on a movie you want as many names as possible doing the voices, not a bunch of unknowns to the public.
Anycase, its all rumors, nothing is nailed down.

If have news, information, rumors, whatever, send em to me at canowupass at yahoo.

Me Me Me

FYI: The official Transformers: The Movie info site is www.transformerslive.com

I have only had this site a couple days and already 500 hits. Wish could take credit for it. Oh well. Anyway, send me TF stuff to put on site. Be sure to indicate source and name to list as credit for providing it.

Under New Management

New owner of Transformers Live. The previous incarnation was apparently a temporary setup to show off Transformers the Movie information till the main site was setup. Feel free to visit my main blog/rant/whatever site at http://erasend.blogspot.com

Any case the movie is coming out 7/4/07. Pretty much the entire team behind the Island is involved so that movie is probably a solid indication of the future.

Cybertron toys are now hitting shelves nationwide. Go out, buy, spead the joy of TFs to others.

Cybertron cartoon is on Cartoon Network saturdays at 7:00pm. If liked Energon this one will go nicely for you.

More Binaltech toys are coming so more car transforming fun to come.

If you have news, info, whatever about Transformers to post, send it to me at canowupass at yahoo.com or leave it in comments. Also willing the change the look of the site to be more TFish for you blogger gurus out there so send that info also. Be sure to indicate what credit you like to give and receive and contact info want listed if any. Basically the Ain't It Cool website model.
